The Haiti Quake Archive

The Haiti Quake Archive is a collection of photos, videos and text captured after the  earthquake on 12 January 2010.

The content comes from a variety of sources, including the UN Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH), OCHA, UNICEF, World Food Program, UN Foundation, and the UN. It is dated between 12 January and 1 May 2010.


The archive holds thousands of records, including texts, photographs and television footage in a variety of formats. You can search through the records using simple keywords, or sort by subject.

Using the archive

Download smaller files, such as text and photos. Larger video files need to be ordered using our offline request form, processed by theUN Video Library .

Using the collection is free of charge and rights-free. We simply ask that you credit the United Nations for usage.

The Haiti Quake Archive was created by the UN Department of Peacekeeping Operations/Department of Field Support , in cooperation with the Department of Public Information.
